Refresh Worn Marble & Natural Stone
Not every mark on stone means the same thing. A stain is absorbed discoloration, so the right treatment depends on what caused it and how deeply it entered the stone. An etch is different because it comes from a chemical reaction at the surface and is corrected through refinishing methods rather than stain treatment. For example, marble floor polishing can refine a dull or worn finish. Countertop etch correction, stain removal, chip repair, and scratch removal address different types of surface damage.
Honing uses abrasives to create a smooth matte or satin finish, while polishing refines that surface toward a higher sheen. An impregnating sealer may reduce absorption and improve stain resistance, but it does not prevent etching, scratches, wear, or all stains, and some stones may not need sealing at all.
